Kate Spade Favorites

It's been 67 and sunny here in Philadelphia, and I've been dying to break out my sundresses and sandals!  The new Kate Spade collection has some pieces that I'd love to add to my wardrobe.
I LOVE the bow!  I've noticed that Kate Spade has added a lot of bows to her collection, and coming from the girl who is a sucker for bows, it's an addition that I thoroughly appreciate!
I love the color...and the bow (of course).
These are awesome.  Quite the statement piece!

The colors in this bag really pop--and the spade logo is adorable!
This is genius, I want this so badly.
I would say that about 85% of the clothes in my closet all have stripes.  I can never get enough of stripes, and the bright red & the bow on this shirt makes this a must for my wardrobe.
Words cannot describe how much I love these shoes.

As much as I've been loving the weather here, part of me is cringing at the thought that this could just be nature's sick joke on us and that next week we'll be in the midst of a blizzard!  Fingers crossed.

Number One on the Agenda: Discuss Obsession for Lilly Pulitzer

It is no secret that I adore Lilly Pulitzer.  I love the colors, the fit of the dresses, the immense variety of options to choose from--to say I am obsessed is an understatement.  I reguarly check the website (confession: it's my homepage on Firefox) and almost died from excitement over the Spring 2011 collection. Some personal favorites (and by some, I mean a lot of favorites):

 This belt is absolutely adorable.
 Love the blue.

Two favorites colors: pink & green.  This bracelet is absolute perfection for me.
 LOVE this print!
Yellow is not a color that is particularly flattering on me, but I would take that risk with this dress.  A ray of sunshine was captured in this dress, and I feel happy every time I look at it.
This dress is simple yet so pretty.
I. want. these. shoes.

Simple, but the simplicity is what makes this dress.

As a friend once wisely said, "Great for my soul, but horrible for my wallet!"  Truth.

In the beginning...

Let me be clear: this is not meant to be a serious blog.  I will not be writing about politics or economics.  I will not be acting as some sort of news source and provide groundbreaking global news.  I will not be discussing my intellectual pursuits.  I'm going to focus on the aspects of life that are always vibrant--that is, clothes, friends, and anything that is colorful or provides joy to people.  I've been following other blogs for a while now, and the visual images embedded in each post brings me a certain amount of happiness each day.  There's something about looking at a particuarly well-shot picture or item of clothing that brings an elated, lighthearted feeling to someone, and while that feeling may only last for a split second, what matters is that that feeling was there.  It may not be a deep-rooted happiness, or happiness that derives from something that truly matters, but it's still happiness, pure and simple.  It's not about being materialistic or shallow, but rather in making something out of a simple picture.  I love clothes and makeup and nail polish and perfume and reality tv and shopping with friends...the list goes on.  This does not mean I don't care about the issues that really matter, or that I primarily focus on the aforementioned items; rather, they are things that keep me grounded.  Even during times when life is rough, these "shallow" things remain a constant reminder that even when you're in a position where you see life in shades of gray, life actually comes in a variety of colors--or in my case, shades of pink.
